Fast and Furious, all 8 cars, second set up for sale

Just managed to find another of the very hard to find Mustangs from the Fast and Furious set, and decided to put the whole set, (all 8 cars) up on Ebay.

It's only a 3 day auction, so be sure to check it out.

A little "house cleaning"

I was just going back through some of my posts, and realized that I have several projects that I have an in-progress picture up but never really showed the final results.

So here are a couple of them completed, along with what I am currently working on....

First off, the 1970 Firebird Trans Am.
If you look close, you can see where I broke off a corner of the hood while trying to get it to fit properly.
I think part of my problem was the "shaker hood" was causing it to not sit centered in the hood opening.

Next is the Gasser that I was working on. This one was to be the big (1/24 scale) brother to the Hot Wheels 55' Gasser I had completed earlier.

I decided to leave the hood off, rather than using the little clear window on the hood like the box art represented.
Rear bumper fell off while I was carrying it outside for photos, so need a little glue yet to fix that.
Should have sanded the flat surface of the tires to make them look a little more used. Has that showroom new look in these pictures.

Next is a Hot Wheels Silverado that just came out. Started out purple with flames on it.
But that was before a dip in the paint stripper....

A couple coats of a nice filler/primer, and it was ready for black paint.

And some wheels I had "laying around" took a little extra cutting of the chassis and interior to get those fat rear wheels in there.
Still needs some detail painting to bring out the small details.
And a clear coat, and a good color sanding to bring this one all together. All-in-all quite please with the way this one is shaping up. Haven't decided about a graphic or stripe of some sort. Maybe just leave it simple.

And lastly....
Feeling a little destructive, I started to take apart a few more for the next round of customs.

They are all in primer at the moment, and haven't made any real decisions about which direction to go with them, but should have a chance to sit down and figure it out, over this long, holiday weekend.

Oh, and the Koombi's all found a new home. These 4 are all going to the same buyer.
I hope he enjoys them, and I have several more if I want to do some more Koombis.

Custom gasser, and it's bigger brother.

So as the Trans Am is just about finished, and waiting for some good pictures, I decided to start my next project.

I had already completed a custom 55 Chevy Gasser from Hot Wheels, and liked the look and the color so much, that I decided to do it's bigger brother.

Much more work needs to be done on this, as it is just the body shell at this point, but the engine is started, and the suspension will hopefully all get sorted out before too long.

Please ignore how dirty and dusty my patio table is. It is the height of pollen and allergy season, and I just can't keep up.

Hot Wheels Fast and Furious cars

After a quick trip to the local Walmart, I came up with a complete set of the Fast and Furious cars.
I like the little bit extra added detail painting that makes them look just that much sharper.
Apparently these are rather hard to find, and the Mustang is especially difficult.
Guess I was just lucky that I was able walk in and find all 8 in the set.

I was also lucky enough that I grabbed a complete second set, which may wind up on Ebay.
Always nice when I am lucky enough to find something that I can sell and afford the set I am keeping for myself.
Just right place, right time on this one I guess.

A few more customs up for sale

Once I finally sold one, I have "broken the seal" so to speak, and feel that maybe I should sell a couple more of these little guys.

At first I was kind of attached to them, but now that the one is gone, I don't feel as attached to the rest of the family.

So these are all up on Ebay, under the title Hot Wheels Custom Kool Kombi.

Hopefully they can all find good homes too!

1970 Trans Am

Decided to give my eyes a little bit of a break, and work on something of a scale that makes it a little easier to see...

This is a Revell, 2-n-1 kit, but I have chosen to do the "stock" version. I just didn't like the bigger, more modern wheels on this one. Normally I am a big fan of the pro-touring look, but without major work to lower the suspension, it just looked like a stock Firebird with modern rolling stock.

The wheels were a little too shiny for my taste, so the got painted with a little more correct matte silver and detailed with black, and red center caps.

Added the decals, and detail painted the grill and parts of the suspension and undercarriage.

While doing that, I realized that I hd grabbed the bottle of Chevy Engine Red when assembling the powerplant, as opposed to the correct Pontiac Engine Blue color this one should be.

Oh well....

Interior is in the paint booth, and more detailing there yet to come.

Going to try and sell some customs

I have seen a lot of custom hotwheels lately that have wound up on Ebay, so I thought I would give it a try and see what happens.

Starting with my "hippie kombi".
Swapper out the tires for Real Riders rubber tires, some hippie decals, and a few other custom detailing ideas I had.

If interested you should be able to find it under the listing Hotwheels Kustom Kool Kombi.

Thanks again, and hopefully another tip or two this coming week!
